Melasma is a common disorder characterized with brown, dark brown, to grey pigmentation most commonly on the face. Women are particularly prone due to hormones and sun exposure aggravates the condition. Gentle treatment of melasma with various medical grade products and PICO Genesis laser can be performed. Melasma is a resistant disease and relapse is a rule than a rarity. An overall treatment plan will be developed with your beauty expert.

How many treatments are needed?

The total number of treatments required varies based on the intensity of the pigmentation, color, body location and efficiency of each individual's lymphatic system. Most will need up to 3 treatments.

Typically, treatments can be done at intervals or 4 - 6 weeks if necessary.

What can I expect after treatment?

Pigmented lesions will turn darker or red within 24-48 hours. Bruising, redness and swelling are common and resolve with time. Avoid direct sun exposure for 2-4 weeks and avoid hot tubs, saunas, etc. for 1-2 days. Avoid skin irritants for a few days post treatment.
